Brasil Football World Cup Security Center accidentally leaked Wi-Fi Credentials from the Security Center of the most famous game event in the world, The FIFA World Cup. They have offered to cybercriminals the opportunity to carry out man-in-the-middle ( MITM ) attacks to break into their network and compromise it.
The World Cup security center allows security personnel to view live feeds from various cameras around the World Cup stadiums. It exposed Wi-Fi SSID and password in the background of the picture on the big screen that anyone can read with a squint of the eye. In the image appears the text:
Wifi Network: WORLDCUP
Password: b5a2112014
The password appears to be “brazil2014” in leet speak. There is no uppercase and no special chars. Strong password you say? Good joke!
At this moment, all the media posted news regarding this security mistake, so they probably changed the password.
